Father's Day Extravaganza!

So seeing as yesterday was Father's Day, what better thing to blog about than my own dad? My dad is such an amazing person! If you really get to know him, he is the funniest man you will meet! I don't even know where to start when talking about my dad. He is my role model. He is the best dad anyone could ask for and he does so much for me! So Happy Father's Day Dad!
Me and my Daddy in good ol' Canada!

So this Father's Day most of the kids in my family wouldn't be home. I'm down in Arizona with my brother Preston, my other brother Jeff is studying for Board exams and with his in-laws so that left my sister Jen. Seeing that Father's Day wouldn't be that exciting for my dad, me and Preston decided to do something crazy! We planned this giant scavenger hunt puzzle type of thing for my dad to complete. First, he had seven locations he had to go through, with each location he had a clue. After finding the missing word/answer to clue he looked at a chart. The word that he found had a corresponding Spanish word! After finding all the Spanish words he had to put them into a sentence and then translate them to English. In English the sentence said, "look behind the door of garage basement sub," ultimately meaning go look in the sub basement behind the garage door. When he got there he found our Father's day present! This was a little tricky to put together seeing as we were in a different state, but with the help of the computer and the help of my mom we made it happen!

Ultimately he loved it!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Kung Fu Panda

Over this past week I had the most amazing experience of my life! I was able to go volunteer at a summer camp for kids with Muscular Dystrophy. I was lucky enough to get double paired to a camper with my best friend Mileaha. Our campers name was Tyler Williamsen, he is the cutest little boy ever. Before camp started I was pretty scared, but it totally paid off. All the volunteers arrived on Wednesday night where we had some Cafe Rio, some training, and we got to meet the other Volunteers in your group. My group was the best by far, we were in Kung Fu Panda! All of us Kung Fu Pandians met up together in the Gemini ballroom (which was our group room). I could tell that we were all kinda nervous for the day ahead of us. Faster than expected the morning came and we had to sit there and wait till we were walkie talkied in to pick up our camper. After making our amazing name tags and room sign we went to Hollywood Connection!

Tyler loved the racing games!

and his camper Tyler.

The first day was pretty fun but pretty exhausting. We were all ready for bed. The next day we had a little carnival! All Tyler was interested in was his balloon, the lake, food, and going back inside. Here he made his new best friend Mitch. Mitch and Tyler hit it off imediately, they absolutely adored each other and were basically inseperable.

One of the days the Murray Fire Department came, and Tyler absolutely loved it! He was totally transfixed by looking/touching/climbing on the fire trucks. He got a plastic fire fighter hat and he looked adorable in it!

One thing we all loved were the dances! Tyler would ask when we were going to have another one. Well one of the dances we dressed up like our favorite movie/tv show character (since the theme of this years summer camp was Hollywood). Me and Mileaha threw whatever we had together in like the last second before camp. I went as Nacho Libre, Mileaha went as Meg from Hercules, Tyler went as Spongebob, our roommate Laura went as Tinkerbell, and Laura's camper Danny went as some black thing from Lord of the Rings.

Another one of the dances was the red carpet dance. This meant we got all fancied up in dresses and suits. Tyler dreaded this, and kept saying "I don't wanna wear church clothes." It took me, Laura, and Mileaha to hold him down so we could force the hated church clothes upon him. All he wanted was to wear his Spongebob costume. But once we finally got it on, he was a stud!

Another one of the days we went to This is the Place park. We got to ride trains and ponies and try lots of new things. Two of our good friends Mitch and Michael even got an old fashioned shave. We spent all day with Mitch and his camper Travis, and Michael and Brandon and their camper Trent. Trent liked to pick on me and Mileaha, not to mention try to run us over.
