Classy Kendall

10:00 AM White House (photo opportunity)
The White House was really cool, even if we only got to go outside of the fence. There were a ton of people there! Mr. Smith asked a guard if we could sing the National Anthem, after the guard told him this was public area, he couldn't say yes or no, Mr. Smith decided to go for it! We got to sing the National Anthem in front of the white house!

I'm not sure..

11:00 AM Free time at Smithsonian Institution/National Mall/Lunch on your own
A few of us decided to walk over to the World War II Memorial. Unfortunately, the computers were down so I couldn't look up my grandpa's name, but we still got to see it and I even found a geocache! My dad was proud. After that, we headed over to Cosi for one last lunch! It was delicious! Sadly it was our last time. Then we headed back to Gunther, all exhausted from our long, fun, and exciting week in Washington D.C.

We asked some foreigner to take the picture and he failed to get the Utah in it..

... So we had to ask someone else!

Geocache! Kilroy was here!

Such a beautiful memorial!

One last lunch at Cosi!

Our bus, Gunther!

We were all pretty exhausted!

2:00 PM Depart for the airport

5:00 PM Flight departs from BWI Int'l Airport

Me and Carly on the plane ride home!
6:27 PM Flight arrives at JFK Int'l Airport

7:26 PM Flight departs from JFK Int'l Airport
Funny story.. Me and Tyler almost missed this flight! Mr. Smith was calling us freaking out! Tyler had felt sick from the first flight and wanted some food in her stomach, so we stopped at the Starbucks to get something. It took a lot longer than planned.. We literally ran through the airport, jumping over bags and yelling at everyone to get out of our way. Tyler even jumped over a small child, I don't think that kids parents were very happy.. Luckily, running as fast as we could, we made the walk (that took everyone else 20 minutes) in 5 minutes and made it on just in time!
11:02 PM Flight arrives in Salt Lake City

The Awakening

Bountiful High School A'Capella Choir

Day 5

8:00 AM Breakfast at the hotel

9:00 AM Leave for the LDS Temple Visitors Center

9:20 AM Arrive at Visitors center. Time to stroll the grounds and take pictures
The grounds of the Temple were so beautiful! It is probably one of my favorite temples! My neighbors, Tom and Anne Hardy, are on a mission at the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors Center so they were waiting for me, Tiffany, and Jack the moment we got off of the bus. Tom used to play the piano for me any time I sang in church, and it was really fun to be able to see him and Anne again.
Me and Matt Everett

Oh ya know, Me and Tiffany always trying to ruin someones picture!

I'm not sure how exactly this happened.. But it's funny!

BFF's 4 Life!

9:50 AM Meet at the Visitors Center

10:00 AM Workshop with Brian Bartoldus
Although this guy was tough, and very attentive to every detail, he was very good! And I think we had a really good workshop and learned a lot from him! Like, big alien, small box!

11:15 Leave for the Smithsonian

Landon decided to eat all the sour patch remnants...

I'm not all that sure that he liked it..

12:00 NOON Smithsonian/National Mall free time
First we went to the Air and Space Museum, it was really fun! Colton even rode a simulator plane! Then we went to the food court to eat lunch before heading back to the bus.
Me and Hanna at the Air and Space Museum

We decided to walk like ducks

Kendall kept walking like a duck..

Scary right?

2:30 PM Meet at the Holocaust Museum
The Holocaust Museum was one of my favorite things, but it was also one of the hardest things of the trip. I definitely think that everyone should take time to visit this museum. I held my one pretty well till I saw all of the stuff about children.. That's when I lost it and totally broke down. They have a little remembrance hall where you can go and sit after walking through the museum, and I sat in there for quite a while, just pondering.. It was definitely a highlight of the trip.

5:45 PM Depart for the Washington D.C. LDS Temple Visitors Center

6:30 PM Prepare for your performance
After getting dressed and ready, I went and sat down next to the Hardy's and talked with them for a while. My cousin Mark is serving a mission in Washington D.C. right now and had an investigator lined up to come with him, unfortunately the investigator backed out at the last minute so he couldn't come. So I wrote him a note and told Brother Hardy to give it to him. Although it was disappointing not to see him, it was cool hearing good things about him from the other missionaries there.

7:30 PM Performance at LDS Temple Visitors Center
This was definitely one of my favorite, and one of our best performances! It was so much fun to sing there and a big number of us were crying before the performance was over.

Who knew Hayden Call could ever take a bad picture??

9:30 PM Arrive back at hotel

Day 4

8:00 AM Breakfast at the hotel

9:00 AM Depart for National Cathedral
We got there kinda earlier then expected and had a lot of time to look around the outside of the Cathedral. It is massive! And also very beautiful! But it was also very cold outside!
Great friends!

The Roommates!

Me and da boys!

What studs!

10:15 AM Tour of the National Cathedral begins
The inside was even more beautiful then the outside! It was simply stunning! It even has a piece of the moon in it! How cool is that?? When we got to the downstairs, Mr. Smith asked our tour guide if we could sing in there.. Guess what? She totally said yes! She said we could sing one song, but after singing one song she didn't stop us and let us sing more. Even here people stopped and listened.

11:00 AM Depart for St. John's

11:30 AM Arrive and prepare for performance at St. John's

11:45 AM Perform prelude music
This was so amazing! It was so fun to be able to sing at an actual mass, and across the street from the white house? We were all in awe!

12:00 NOON Mass begins
We participated in Mass. Even though I felt something was missing, it was still an amazing experience. We sang along, we talked along, and when they started clapping (although we were all a little shocked) we clapped along. They told us that we could participate in communion, and a few of us did, including me and Kendall. Although I didn't drink the wine, I did the other stuff and it was so cool to experience another religion.

12:45 AM Perform postlude music

1:00 PM Depart for the National Archives

1:15 PM Timed entry at the National Archives
It was really cool to the Declaration and the Constitution, even if we herded through like cows.

1:30 PM Free time around the National Mall
After seeing the Declaration and the Constitution, me, Tiffany, Hayden, and Landon decided it was time to find some food. We were starving! Hayden had been talking about this one restaurant all week, so we finally let him take us there. It was delicious! Cosi definitely has the best food.. Ever! We went there two more times that week.. Well me and Tiffany had been craving cupcakes all week too. Remember how I said everything was closed in Old Town Alexandria? The cupcake store was closed too.. Well we stumbled across a cupcake store by Cosi! Those were the biggest, best cupcakes I have ever had! We even started a trend! Lot's of people decided to go to the cupcake store after they saw our delicious cupcakes! Best part of the week!
Crumb's Bake Shop! We waited a long time for these dang cupcakes!

4:00 PM Tour of Ford's Theatre

Bad Mr. Boothe!

5:45 PM Dinner at Hard Rock Cafe
This was delicious and so much fun! We had the entire restaurant singing We Are Young by Fun! Then, Jeff Dericott told the waiter it was his birthday and he had the entire restaurant falsely singing him happy birthday and getting free cake!

7:00 PM Take seats for production of 1776 at Ford's Theatre

7:30 PM 1776 Begins
This was the funniest show ever! It was such a great production. Everyone in it was so talented! I was in awe! Mama, Look Sharp.. New favorite song! Oh and Matt Everett was almost the second person to fall off this balcony, but his would have been an accident.
Right behind us is where Lincoln was shot and killed.

10:00 PM Back at the hotel
